THE crowd went wild when Big Nuz sang the song Hawaii, from their new album Made In Africa.
The group was performing at the Ukhozi FM 53th birthday celebrations at the Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday.
Big Nuz singer, Mampintsha, announced that the group was going to sing a new song featuring Sibusiso Khomo.
Sibusiso, better known as R Mashesha, has not been well and has not performed with the group for almost a year now.
The crowd screamed and pushed forward, wanting to see him.
Danger and Mampintsha have been performing without him for months.
Mampintsha said: “This song we are about to sing is called Hawaii, and we have chosen it from our new album to be a single because we believe it’s going to be the hit of the year.”
The crowd pushed forward towards the stage thinking R Mashesha was there, only to be disappointed, as he wasn’t.
But people were happy that Big Nuz has released another song.
Mthokozisi Khathi, better known as DJ Tira, the group manager said R Mashesha is back and they have just finished recording their new offering that will be in stores from 15 July.
“Mashesha was not well for a while and we chose to wait for him to recover, but now he’s back.
“And soon he will be seen on stage performing with the rest of the group,” he said.
DJ Tira said Hawai is one of the most beautiful islands in the world.
“We are celebrating that our brother R Mashesha is back. This song goes with that theme,” he said.
